Wine Review: This white gold colored Riesling opens with a fragrant ripe Anjou pear bouquet with hints of ginger and pineapple. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, round and a tad off-dry. The flavor profile is a mild Golden Delicious apple with hints of ginger and quince. The finish remains off-dry and drift away nicely. This Riesling is showing well right now and will pair well with many foods. I would pair it with seared sea scallops with an orange ginger sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2017 Riesling leads with laser bright aromas of lemon/lime and green apple, with backup notes of lily of the valley and slate. The utterly refreshing nose makes you want to dive in for a taste. In the mouth, fresh lemon curd and apricot dance on your tongue, while a touch of orange blossom honey adds nice weight to the palate. The finish is a super long and invigorating burst of pomelo with a side of Asian pear. Pair with fresh clams or mussels or with a charcuterie and hard cheeses.
