Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir for Dutton Goldfield opens with a very inviting clove and blueberry bouquet with a hint of spearmint. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is an interesting red plum and cola blend with notes of mild strawberry. I also detected hints of clove and mocha towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Pinot would pair well with turkey. I might even a very good consideration for your Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: As with all our 2017 pinots, our McDougall shows its vineyard personality tremendously, even at a young age. The flinty minerality of chipped granite the vineyard is known for frames red fruit aromas of cherry and pomegranate on the nose, flowing into more savory notes of bay leaf and thyme. There's an elegance to the wine, and a great breadth and fineness to the tannins. The mouth brings Bing cherry, craisin and red plum, along with a kiss of toasty allspice. Dusky dried cherry lingers on a layer of silk to finish.
