Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield impressed the Tasting Panel. It opens with a pleasant black raspberry bouquet with hints of chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and elegant. The flavor profile is a plum and mild mineral blend with a hint of strawberry and blueberry. The finish is dry and its flavors subtly drift away. While the Panel thought this Pinot lacked complexity, they did think it displayed nice finesse. They suggested pairing it with a chocolate lava cake. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The nose leads with robust, brooding aromas of black cherry, blackberry, spicy sandalwood, and peaty earth, balancing on a tobacco and black tea backbone. Flavors of sweet blackberry and boysenberry fold over each other in waves, like a delicious berry pie, and continue into the extended creamy finish. Pair with grilled kielbasa sausages or cumin lamb kabobs.
