Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with an attractive boysenberry bouquet with hints of teaberry and faint oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, round, lush and smooth. The flavor profile is a juicy Chinese five spice and stewed red plum blend with notes of mild flinty minerality. I also detected hints of cherry-cola and red raspberry tea towards the end. The finish allows it fruit flavors to drift away nicely. This is a Pinot for readers who like them on the juicy and fuller side. If you do, you will love it. I would pair this Marin County Pinot with Peking duck. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Sweet blackberry and raspberry compote aromas lead the way, accented by the scent of a breeze through redwood trees. With time, lilac and cinnamon peek out from underneath the candied berry. Mouth-filling rich waves of wild berry goodness spread across your palate, enveloping you in its heady embrace. The wine finishes with a kiss of sweet berry cobbler. Pair with savory herbed roasted duck, and of course Devil's Gulch rabbit.
