Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Petaluma Gap opens with a black cherry bouquet with hints of vanilla, oak and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile is a red plum and craisin blend with notes of black raspberry. We also detected hints of black tea, black pepper, and flint stone. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and show moderate length. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with grilled squab. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The alluring nose grabs your attention right away, luring you in with its seductive juicy black raspberry and plum wrapped around a vibrant core of Bing cherry. Thyme and sandalwood provide an underlay of savory character to the wine. In the mouth, the wine is dense and plush, exuding sweet boysenberry, blueberry, and raspberry compote, sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg. Its intense berry fruit makes a perfect foil for earthy dishes like smoked pork shoulder, stuffed portobello mushrooms or gruyere cheese.
