Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield is really nice. It opens with a spiced plum, vanilla and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a very tasty stewed plum and black cherry blend with hints of cinnamon and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its gentle flavors sail along for a very long time. This Pinot is very food friendly. I would pair it with veal scallopini. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 Deviate, displays an extra dose of elegance. It shows a silky smoothness. The nose perfectly captures the essential attributes of both sites, leading with boysenberry, candied raspberry, and violets, with cinnamon, rhubarb, and sandalwood providing a savory backdrop. In the mouth, lively and juicy black cherry cobbler flavors spread softly to envelop you with their broad embrace. A touch of cedar chimes in on the long structured finish, continuing the fruit/spice dance to the final note.
