Wine Review: This wine is ruby colored and opens with a ripe plum and strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum and strawberry blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality and gentle oak. I also detected hints of black pepper and pomegranate. The finish is dry and lingers nicely. This very good Pinot would pair well with a pork tenderloin with sage, rosemary and garlic. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fruit comes through right away in the nose, providing loads of saturated, rich wild blackberries surrounded by seductive sandalwood incense, begging you to take the first sip. When you do, you’re indulged with a mouthful of creamy, lush black raspberries, tinged with the trademark Freestone spice of cardamom, Asian five-spice and nutmeg, carried gorgeously on a layer of velvet. The mouthwatering finish is both deep and broad, lingering with sweet plums, toffee, and a hint of thyme. Wonderful with mushroom and gruyere flatbread or spiced eggplant stuffed with lamb.
