Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield is very good. It opens with a red currant and blackberry bouquet with a hint of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry with notes of minerality and blueberry along with hints of black tea. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Pinot is very quaffable and will not last long. Share with friends and enjoy with some grilled salmon. Enjoy- Ken
Winemaker Notes: The nose of our 2015 Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir, shows particularly lavish black raspberry aromas fringed with sweet violets and savory brambles. The plushness is heady, making you want to curl into the glass and luxuriate. The raspberry notes continue in your first mouth-coating juicy sip, riding on a wave of satin. Layers of black cherry and cedar brush reveal themselves as the wine sits in the glass. The sultry finish ends with a touch of blueberry and nutmeg. This would be an amazing match for spice-rubbed duck.
