Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield was well received by the Tasting Panel. It opens with a blackberry bouquet with hints of dried flowers and green tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a raspberry tea with notes of minerality and gentle oak. We also detected hints of stewed plum. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with pork tenderloin. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The aromas lead with tart cherry and cranberry, sweetened with a Chambord-like backdrop. Candied raspberry flavors fill the mouth, with cinnamon and nutmeg lending baking spice touches. A trace of underbrush provides another layer of complexity, before the pop of cranberry chimes in at the finish, leaving you refreshed for the next sip. This is a mouthful of wine that’s wonderful on its own in good company, and even better with a goat cheese pizza to counterpoint the sweet nature of the wine.
