Wine Review: This pitch black colored Syrah from the Russian River Valley is impressive. It opens with an inviting mild blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused Maine blueberry with notes of cherry-cola and oak. The finish is dry and its refined medium tannins stick around for quite a while. This Syrah is terrific and will be very well received. I would pair it beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Swirling the glass offers up dizzying aromas of freshly picked berries and mom's delights roasting in the kitchen: blackberries, cherry pie, pepper, tobacco and bacon. The skillful addition of new wood is expressed in the subtle nuance of vanilla and smoke. A velvety pillow greets the palate, followed by luscious blackberries, balanced acidity and sturdy yet refined tannins that linger alongside pleasing notes of berry and crispy bacon. Indelibly a food wine, this Syrah demands the attention of your hardiest recipes.
