Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield is very good. It opens with a cranberry and pomegranate bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fruity and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty ripe plum with notes of red raspberry and pomegranate. The finish is dry and it is nicely prolonged. I would pair this Pinot with Theresa’s cranberry and mushroom chicken. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine is gorgeous now, but also has so much potential apparent ahead. The signature blueberry character that we’ve come to associate with the vineyard makes its presence known immediately in the nose, along with black raspberry and toffee notes to round out the decadent aromatics. The first sip strikes you with its silkiness and opulence, with baking spices draping the dark berry flavors. The blackberry is accented by lovely floral notes of violets, and the finish continues the sweet berry theme to the end. This is a wine that you want to ponder over the course of the evening, learning its secrets. If you need some sustenance to get you by, we recommend sultry, herbal meat dishes to compliment the mystery of the wine.
