Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with a blackberry and black currant bouquet with a hint of old oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fruit forward and very approachable. The flavor profile is a juicy plum and black raspberry blend with notes of old oak. I also detected hints of black currant, cola, and a touch of anise. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors fade away nicely. This Pinot is a very nice drinking Pinot. Its fruit flavors carry it. You can enjoy it with sharp cheddar cheese and crackers as well. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: 2012 gave us beautifully ripened Green Valley fruit. The wine leads with aromas of blackberry and blueberry, underlain with bass notes of strawberry rhubarb, and topped with highlights of violets and lavender. The sweet berry fruit at the core in the mouth is carried by silky and fine-grained tannins to the floral, candied finish. The depth and breadth of the wine is great, and would be an excellent match for meat with an herb rub or tuna steaks.
