Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Marin County is very good. It opens with a very attractive black raspberry bouquet with hints of blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and quite smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry with hints of oak, tea, and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and very mild tannins fade away nicely. This wine would be ideal with grilled salmon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The first thing you notice about this wine is its exceptionally deep color and vibrant hue, whose promise is fulfilled by layered aromatics of blackberry, black cherry, cranberry and toffee. In the mouth, the luscious fruit continues with a sweet/tart combination of blackberry, cranberry and red cherry with overtones of cinnamon and nutmeg. The impression is of a huge, fruit focused, soft Pinot with no hard edges, like a 90-pound sheep dog who likes to sit in your lap (but smells better). Because of the great acidity and moderate alcohol, it still finishes with bright, fresh berry fruit. This is a great wine with a grass fed steak, local salmon on the grill, or certainly alone by a fire on the beach.
