Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Pinot opens with an attractive plum bouquet with notes of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry with notes of red currant and plum. The finish is dry and lingers nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and it would pair well with grilled salmon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Personality is what wine is all about for us at DG, and this vintage of Dutton Ranch Pinot is a perfect example. Juicy berry fruit in the nose and the mouth, substantial but perfectly resolved tannins, and alluring focus convey the personality of our neighborhood. A bit of extra concentration, darker than usual blackberry fruit, and an exceptional sourball brightness convey the personality of the vintage. We love the sweet, dense blackberry fruit of this wine, and how that fruit is enhanced by tones of coriander, tar and ginger. We hope you love it too - there is a great (contrarian) satisfaction for us to so love a vintage that took so much effort and focus to manage.
