Wine Review: This light colored Chard opens with a very fragrant tropical fruit bouquet. There are hints of pineapple, baked, apple, mild oak, and spice peaking thru. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and has a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a mild oak influenced ripe green apple with a hint of pineapple and butterscotch. The finish is quite dry and it is very refreshing for a Chard. It would pair well with chicken, penne, and peas in a thick white cream sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: In the nose the wine leads with lemon and tangerine, accented by tropical overtones and buttercream/ginger barrel notes. In the mouth, the first impression is of fresh citrus and pear, but with time it is the lush guava and toffee that linger. The bright acidity and cleansing mineral elements carry the long citrus finish. This is a wonderful wine to pair with rich shellfish like lobster or crab.
