Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot opens with a very faint black cherry and strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and soft. The flavor profile is a very light red raspberry and strawberry blend with a hint of very mild oak in the background. The finish is dry and its mild tannins linger nicely. This wine would pair well with Chinese pork spare ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: There are special wines from every vintage that just stand out in my mind, and the 2008 Devil's Gulch is certainly one of them. Aromatically, the definitive wild blackberry jumps from the glass, surrounded by coriander spice and wild cherry overtones. In the mouth, the wild berry fruits prevail, supported by exceptionally rich tannins and bright acidity. Let this wine breath a bit and you will be rewarded with a wonderful combination of restrained power and silky indulgence. And don't forget to lay some down for the long term, you will most certainly be rewarded.
