Wine Review: This pale white gold colored Chardonnay from Dutton Estate opens with a mild poached pear and light oak bouquet with hints of mango, lemon custard, butter toast, and nutmeg. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, slightly creamy, bright, and fresh. The flavor profile is an oak and lemon-lime blend with notes of spiced pear, mild butterscotch, and chamomile tea. We also detected some hints of white peach, backing spice and pineapple. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would suggest pairing this Chardonnay with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli in a mild cream sauce or with Willy’s Steakhouse’s lobster Rangoon’s. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This wine opens with bountiful aromas of tangerine and lemon. Upon further opening, gentle notes of sea salt caramel blend with the citrus aromas. The mixed use of concrete and oak barrels both preserves and softens acid, which creates a delicate, medium-bodied Chardonnay. The caramel and citrus aromas follow to the palate and are met with a nuanced nuttiness; a signature old vine flavor.
