Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cab was one of my favorite wines I tried at the Grand Tasting of the Newport Wine Festival. It opens with an attractive mild black cherry bouquet. On the palate this wine comes alive and is full bodied, very well balanced, and elegant. The flavor profile is a ripe and juicy black cherry with hints of boysenberry, mint, and oak. The finish is dry and its moderate fine tannins are nicely prolonged. This mild Cab would pair perfectly with filet mignon in the near term. Tasted twice with consistent notes. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A complex blend of grapes from the greater Napa Valley and seven of its acclaimed appellations this wine also incorporates a significant amount of fruit from our Estate vineyards. The result is a wine that strikes an effortless balance between dark fruit oak and tannins. Classic Cabernet elements of black currant dark cherry plum and raspberry are accentuated by more subtle layers of mint and black olive. Though a big structured and age-worthy wine the tannins are beginning to soften framing both the fruit and the oak-inspired vanilla and cocoa notes.
