Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Duckhorn opens with black currant, black licorice, and pencil shavings bouquet with hints of black cherry, muddled mint, and saddle leather. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, smooth and luscious. The flavor profile is black cherry, blackberry, and toasted coconut blend with notes of graphite, mint, and black plum. We also detected hints of milk chocolate, dried herbs, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its flavors and well-managed moderate tannins fade away nicely. The Tasting Panel would serve this Cab blend with beef coconut curry or a wild mushroom ragu. Enjoy – KWGTP
