Wine Review: This dark red colored Merlot opens with an oak and black currant bouquet hints of violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with gentle acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, delicate, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry and gentle oak blend with notes of red plum, oregano, and loam. We also detected hints of dark chocolate and black currant in the mix. The finish is dry and its moderate grippy tannins stick around for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would decant this Merlot before pairing it with grilled hanger steak or Stuart's steak treats. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: With lush, juicy layers of tantalizing red berry fruit and a lovely core of cool-climate energy, this wine captures the essence of Carneros Merlot. On the palate it is vibrant and flowing, with supple, polished tannins adding poise and purity to the luxurious Bing cherry and cranberry flavors. As it draws to a lingering finish, a medley of sweet baking spice notes emerge that will keep you coming back for more!
