Wine Review: This clear and dark red colored Cabernet based blend opens with black cherry and toasted coconut bouquet with hints of black raspberry, vanilla extract, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel soft and smooth. The flavor profile is black currant, black cherry, and coconut blend with notes of integrated oak and cocoa. We also detected hints of plum and graphite. The finish is dry, and its fine tannins linger for a bit and then nicely fade away. The Panel would pair this red blend with from Duckhorn with a filet mignon or grilled lamb. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 vintage of The Discussion is a majestic and elegant wine that immediately demands attention with alluring aromas of black cherry compote, chocolate-covered blueberry, fig and cinnamon. As it opens up, hints of clove, toasted hazelnut and espresso bean emerge. On the palate, juicy blueberry, raspberry, and pomegranate flavors meld with creamy oak to create a generous palate structure, with focused tannins and hints of sage and savory spice adding complexity to a long, stately finish.
