Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Duckhorn opens with a black cherry and toasted coconut bouquet with a hint of cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, slightly acidic and smooth. The flavor profile is a black plum and oak blend with hints of toasted coconut, black olive and Earl Grey tea. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this wine with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The gorgeous nose of this wine immediately evokes thoughts of ripe black cherry and juicy wild blueberry. As it opens up, tantalizing layers of espresso, vanilla, star anise, cocoa powder and sweet baking spices are revealed. On the bright, juicy palate, layers of brambly fruit and pomegranate mingle with subtle savory accents and hints of bittersweet chocolate and cardamom. The tannins are silky and supple, adding plushness and weight to the luxurious flavors that build in density on the mid-palate, before gliding to a long, resonant finish.
