Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot from Atlas Peak is very good. It opens with a unique black cherry bouquet with hints of cigar box, gun powder and coconut. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a cinnamon tea with notes of plum. We also detected hints of bay leaf and rhubarb. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drifted away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Merlot with a Kona crusted filet. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: With its lush and alluring aromas, rich mouthfeel and bold flavors, this wine shows why. On the palate, layers of creme brulee, blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, licorice and baking spices are underscored by rustic, mountain tannins, which bring a lovely tension to the finish, while promising a long life in the cellar.
