Wine Review: This ruby colored Merlot opens with a mild kirsch like bouquet with hints of saddle leather and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry with notes of oak, pepper and plum. We all detected hints of minerality towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors and well-managed tannins drift away nicely. This Merlot was still showing nicely on day 2 when it paired very well with my veal parmigiana. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Combining lovely structure and alluring appeal, this is a classic expression of Duckhorn Vineyards Merlot. Intense aromas of ripe cherry, plum and black fig rise from the glass, underscored by hints of leather and cedar. On the palate, it is lush and supple, with bright acidity and velvety tannins supporting layers of raspberry and black cherry, as well as hints of coffee and chocolate that carry through on the long finish.
