Wine Review: This midnight blue colored Zinfandel from Duckhorn opens with an attractive boysenberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is an oak influenced black raspberry with notes of strawberry and black plum. The finish is dry and its flavors and medium tannins stick around for a while. This fruit forward and rustic styled Zin would pair well with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is a vivid and alluring Zinfandel with abundant fruit highlighted by juicy blackberry and dark plum layers, as well as hints of fresh-picked blueberry, mocha and dark chocolate. On the palate, luscious velvety tannins carry the wine to a lingering finish that concludes with just a touch of ripe berry sweetness and spice.
