Wine Review: This straw colored Chardonnay from Duckhorn's second label is a good value. It opens with a mild apple and mild oak like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a ripe apple with hints of sweet oak and a touch of lemon and butter. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. I would pair this very good Chard with chicken francese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine has enticing citrus zest, orange blossom and guava aromas with hints of banana cream pie and spicy oak. The palate is soft and velvety offering vibrant citrus flavors intermingled with rich tropical fruit. Excellent acidity adds length and brightness to a satisfying finish. Recommended pairings: lobster, fish, shrimp, crab cakes, creamy chowders, chicken, turkey, pork, cream sauces, & mild cheddar.
