Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a fragrant boysenberry and craisin bouquet with hints of strawberry licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a spiced black plum, black cherry and vanilla blend with notes of oak and mild stone dust. I also picked up some hints of craisin and cocoa in the aftertaste. The finish is dry and mild tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This friendly Zin is a nice mid-week offering. I would pair it with your favorite pizza or burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2020 Heritage Vines Zinfandel is delicious and wonderfully balanced. This vintage presents alluring aromatics of boysenberry, black raspberry and plum with nuances of toasty cedar, warm spices, and white pepper. On the palate, brambly flavors of dark berries come forward. The wine is complex, with bright acidity complimented by deeper notes of nutmeg, cardamom, and mocha. From start to finish, this remarkable wine offers refreshing acidity paired with excellent structure.
