Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot based blend from Dry Creek was well-liked by the Tasting Panel. It opens with a blueberry bouquet with a hint of cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and soft. The flavor profile is a black cherry and minerality blend with notes of earthy black tea. We also detected hints of black plum. The finish is dry and has moderate gentle tannins. The Panel suggested pairing this wine with steak tips marinated with a Ken’s Italian dressing. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 vintage is beautifully balanced from start to finish. Aromas of black cherry, ripe blackberry and cedar are evident at first swirl. After several minutes of airing, the wine opens up and reveals nuanced spices of white and black pepper. On the palate, the wine is delicious with a silky lushness and tannins that are elegant. Rich flavors of black currant, spiced plum and black cherry come forward with notes of allspice and leather. The finish is seamless and well-integrated.
