Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet from Dry Creek opens with a faint black raspberry bouquet with a hint of black cherry and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a pleasant blueberry and black cherry blend with a hint of menthol. The finish is dry and its building tannins stick around for a little while. This wine drew in the panel tasters because it felt like a Merlot on the palate, yet finished strong like a Cab. Overall that was received as, very good. The panel came up with a NY strip steak as the best food match. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Dry Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon displays elegant aromas of raspberry, sage and dried flowers. On the palate, the flavors intermingle with black cherry and chocolate creating a mouthful of silky, well-integrated tannins. With some airing, the wine fleshes out even more providing dimension, depth and length. The finish lingers on for more than a minute with fine tannins that are very elegant and structured. Simply delicious!
