Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Dry Creek Vineyard will be a crowd pleaser. It opens with a fragrant dried cranberry bouquet with a hint of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fruit forward and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild cranberry and gentle black raspberry blend with hints of minerality. I also detected a hint of faint oak and a touch of boysenberry in the background. The finish is dry and subtle. This Zin is easy going and would be a very nice bistro glass pour. I would pair it with a juicy bacon mushroom burger or steak tips. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2014 Heritage Vines Zinfandel is delicious and beautifully balanced. This vintage presents enticing aromatics of raspberries, cranberries and a hint of toast and pepper nuances. On the palate, you’ll experience flavors of black cherry, cranberry and spicy dark chocolate. The wine is complex, but does not burden the palate with too much of any single character - everything is in balance and carries the right amount of finesse. The tannins are silky and smooth with refined notes that please the senses. From start to finish, this wine is a joy to experience and reminds of us of just how good Zinfandel is from the Dry Creek Valley.
