Wine Review: This candy apple red colored Pinot Noir from Drew opens with a very inviting strawberry bouquet with hints of Dr. Pepper, raspberry and apple skin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium minus acidity. We also found it to be nicely balanced and pleasant. The flavor profile is a mild graphite infused strawberry and red cherry blend with notes of red plum with hints of oolong tea, oregano, medium oak and tart pomegranate. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this delicate Pinot with a variety of food options including a Pinot glazed squab with roasted vegetables, a roasted pork loin or grilled red snapper. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Fog-Eater is our appellation blend Pinot Noir where we select several Anderson Valley sites and bring them together to express the unique cool climate characteristics of Anderson Valley. We combined two deep end vineyards and one east ridge site along with one mid valley site to complete this special blend. With the lion's share of fruit coming from the true 'deep end'. We are quite smitten with this 2018 vintage.
