Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot Noir from Drew opens with a mélange of aromas. Featuring pomegranate, cranberry and red raspberry with hints of turned earth, red cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a red currant and pomegranate blend with notes of nicely integrated red plum and fine minerality. I also detected hints of sage and a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its flavors subtly fade away. This Pinot would pair well with pan-fried quail with a mushroom risotto. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Morning Dew Ranch sits in the deep end of Anderson Valley. The 2018 vintage was a cooler vintage which translated to longer hang time, pushing the pick date two weeks later. This classic Anderson Valley bottling delivers an elegant, finely tuned, ethereal and seamless wine with notes of pomegranate, shitake mushrooms, sage and dried red rose petals with distinct quartz mineral leanings.
