Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chardonnay from Drew is very impressive! It opens with a fragrant Bartlett pear bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, rich and savory. The flavor profile is a Bartlett pear and oak blend, I also detected hints of green apple, pineapple and just a touch butterscotch at the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for a very long time. This Chard would be ideal to serve with lobster bisque. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This mineral driven beauty is showing citrus, gooseberry, kumquat and zippy tropical fruit notes along with a lovely flinty and oyster shell character. Shows the leanness of a Chablis with unmistakable coastal California character. The 2017 has a little more fullness on the palate than the 2016 and really hits on all notes with impeccable balance and consistency on the palate. This Chardonnay is very much coming into its own with this vintage. Pair with oysters on the half shell or grilled salmon.
