Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Pinot Noir from Drew opens with a shoe polish and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tangy pomegranate and tart red plum blend with notes of cedar plank and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. I would decant his wine in the near term as this Pinot melds together very nicely with some air. This Pinot would pair well with Delish’s grilled pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2016 Reserve bottling hails from the eastern mid slope of our estate ranch. On the nose expect intense dark red fruit, pomegranate, rose hips, black truffles and black tea. On the palate, dark exotic plums, black currants, tarragon, wet quartz and iron along with those classic black truffle notes we get from this ranch. A sensual, intense and very well-structured wine from front to back on a very long finish. Pair with roasted duck breast or herbed pork tenderloin.
