Wine Review: This bright straw-colored Riesling opens with a faint pineapple and pear bouquet with hints of lime, ginger, and florals. On the palate, this wine is tad sweet and pleasantly acidic. The flavor profile is stony mineral, ginger, and lime blend with notes of white pepper. We also detected hints of honey and green apple mixed in. The finish is a tad sweet and its flavors and acidity lingers for quite a while. The Panel would pair this Riesling with broiled scallops or seasoned grilled pork. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The Erdener Treppchen vineyard is so steep that, long ago, stone steps were built into the hillside to help workers reach the vines. The iron-infused, red slate soil produces wines that are muscular and complex, with an intense mineral finish. The early harvested Kabinett is a precocious wine, with red fruit aromas and an elegant yet muscular structure.
