Wine Review: This pale straw colored Riesling from Germany opens with a fragrant lemon bouquet with hints of wet stone and apple. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and lively. The flavor profile is a ripe apple with notes of lemon and nicely integrated minerality. I also detected hints of faint orange. The finish is semi-sweet and its flavors drift away nicely. This Riesling would be a very nice aperitif to serve with bacon wrapped scallops at your holiday parties. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wines of 2012 are characterized by a stunning purity of fruit and a density of flavor that gives each wine a very clear expression of its terroir. It is a particularly good year for Kabinett, which were harvested with brilliant acidity and at the ideal must weights for each Pradikat (ripeness level)
