Wine Review: This pale straw colored Riesling from Dr. Loosen was our top scoring wine in a recent blind tasting that we conducted. It opens with an apricot and grapefruit bouquet with hints of green apple and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, acidic and crisp. The flavor profile is a ripe pineapple and orange blend with hints of peach tea and honey. The finish is pleasantly sweet and its flavors linger nicely. The consensus was this Riesling would be perfectly fine to enjoy on its own. Those that recommended a food match suggested Great Hill Blue cheese puffs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A small village named Graach lies between two more-famous neighbors: Bernkastel and Wehlen. This vineyard's steep, southwest-facing slopes and deep soils produce wines that combine the elegance of Wehlen with the rustic strength of Bernkastel. Because of the forceful minerality from the abundant blue slate in the soil, wines from Graach have excellent aging potential and will improve in the bottle for many decades.
