Wine Review: This deep garnet Cabernet Sauvignon from Doubleback opens with a red currant and cedar bouquet with hints of tobacco leaf and peonies. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, lush, bright, and fresh. The flavor profile is cedar and red currant blend with notes of graphite and red licorice. We also detected some hints of pomegranate, sage, and crushed stone. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and its moderate tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Inky dark ruby in color. A beautifully warm, dry vintage, yet painful in the light yields we were able to grow. Small amounts of great wine! Classic aromas of cedar and rosemary, ripe red fruit and wafts of clove and fresh plum. The wine is concentrated, rich, loaded with tannin that is pillowy with no hard edges. Constantly evolving in the glass- something we love in great wines. Decant now and drink through 2040.
