Wine Review: This opaque and deep garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Doubleback opens with a toasted coconut and black currant bouquet with hints of blueberry, pencil shavings, and orange peel. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, lush, and displays very good tension. The flavor profile is a delicious graphite and blackberry blend note of cedar and black plum. We also detected some hints of toasted coconut, orange peel and bay leaf. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and its moderate dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would drink this Cab on its on its own. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: A beautiful vintage for our Estate Reserve program. The new vintage is inky dark ruby with so much going on. Aromatically revealing blue fruit, toasty oak, tar, pencil shavings and blackberry. Lush, rich, building to a monster of a wine without any rough edges and a mouthwatering finish that goes forever. This wine is tight right after opening but slowly starts to reveal itself. Tasted over multiple days and the wine held in perfect condition. I would recommend cellaring until at least 2026 and then should drink through 2040.
