Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet from Red Mountain opens with a cinnamon, red currant, and maraschino cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated mild acidity. The mouthfeel is silky smooth and balanced. The flavor profile is moves more toward black and blue, featuring black licorice, black currant, and black cherry. I also detected notes of oak, black pepper, and stony minerality. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins build-up and linger and last for quite a while. This Cab would pair well with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2017 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of newly tilled forest earth and fresh blackberry accented by touches of sweet coffee and raspberry jam on toast. The palate leads with a dark and silky presence balanced by bright blueberry, providing a subtle, integrated sweetness. The wine evolves to a long, nuanced finish, showing apricot cobbler with hints of minerality.
