Wine Review: This bourbon colored dessert wine from Italy reminded the panel of an after dinner drink, more than a dessert wine. It opens with a ripe rum raisin and orange bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a tasty brown sugar and plump raisin blend with notes of orange marmalade. We also detected hints of sweet peach and toasted marshmallow. The finish is sweet and pleasant. The panel suggested pairing this unique dessert wine with creme brulee or a cigar. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Ben Rye 2011 is bright amber in the glass. The ample and round bouquet opens with aromas of fresh apricots, candied orange peel on a balsamic background of aromatic herbs. On the palate the caressing sweetness is well balanced by crisp acidity. An extremely long and satisfying persistence.
