Wine Review: This bright red colored Grenache based blend from Donelan opens with a faint earthy and red cherry bouquet with a hint oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and fruit forward. Those fruits are a combination of strawberry and red currant with notes of red plum and oak mixed in. I also detected a hint of pomegranate. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins stick around for a little while. I would pair this wine with pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The next evolution in our Cuvee Moriah reintroduces Mourvedre, taking the already exotic 2014 vintage and adding wild herbs and cured meats—delicious! The 2014 bottling is a great match between the Dry Stack Vineyard Grenache’s delicate fruit flavors of pomegranate and rhubarb and the Kopf Vineyard Mourvedre's structuring mouth-feel and savory notes of caraway seed and cardamom spices, with additional hints of red currants and fresh violets throughout.
