Wine Review: This pitch black colored Syrah is terrific. It opens with a black licorice bouquet with hints of black currant. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty black licorice and black currant blend with nicely integrated mild old oak, smoked bacon and dark cocoa. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This Syrah would pair well with comfort foods. I would pair it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
