Wine Review: This light ruby colored Pinot Noir from Donelan opens with a cola and black raspberry bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a pleasant and gentle black raspberry with nicely integrated oak. I also detected a touch of cola and black pepper. The finish is dry and friendly. I would pair this very good Pinot with roasted pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pure ripe red raspberry, licorice and strawberry pour through an abundance of spices including cedar, cardamom, and vanilla. Perhaps more aromatically expressive than the 2009 the palate is extremely layered and broad, but focused and tense all the while. With time, we expect the wine to add weight, more fleshiness, and leather. Increasing your pleasure and increasing what is already a beautiful and lengthy finish. Be rewarded with patience, but good luck resisting if you open one bottle. Few have prevailed in refraining from opening another.
