Wine Review: This ruby colored Claret from Donati is very good. It opens with a black fruit and gentle oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and a little fruit forward. The flavor profile is a gentle red cherry and plum blend with notes of nicely integrated gentle minerality. I also detected hints of faint vanilla oak and a touch of boysenberry. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors fade away nicely. This Claret would pair nicely with homemade meatloaf. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aroma: Aromas of cherry, coffee, and earth. Palate: Flavors of cranberry, ripe cherry on the mid-palate with nice balance of acid and tannin.
