Wine Review: This dark purple colored wine from Portugal is very good. It opens with a tar, oak and black anise bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced and coats your entire mouth. The flavor profile is a black fig and oak blend with hints of blackberry, olive and red plum. The finish is dry, with faint tannins. However, there is a touch of balsamic that appears as it fades away. This wine is built for food. I would pair it with a wild boar ragu Bolognese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Clear aspect, bright violet color. Complex red berries, toasted, with suggestions of over ripe plums. Rich red berry flavor with great persistence, balanced, rounded and with a good structure that will allow it to age well.
