Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast opens with a very mild lemon and faint oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and very approachable. The flavor profile is an elegant mild lemon with nicely integrated gentle oak with hints of butter and almond. The finish is dry and its mild flavors fade away nicely. This is a very good Chardonnay to enjoy with food. I would pair this with pan fried rainbow trout with buttered vegetables on the side. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Crafted from cool-climate fruit grown in the windy and foggy Southeastern reaches of the Sonoma Coast AVA, this distinctly modern Chardonnay with a floral bouquet which hints of Lemon Verbena and green papaya. Bright flavors of citrus, pear and honey-crisp apple play starring roles, while notes of Key Lime and baking spice round out the finish. A touch of French oak and creamy malolactic notes add additional texture and complexity. This medium-body Chardonnay is exceptionally well-balanced displaying great food-friendly acidity and a bright, refreshing finish. This versatile wine will pair nicely with cedar planked salmon or even roasted Cornish game hens marinated with garlic and rosemary.
