Wine Review: This pitch black colored Tempranillo opens with a fragrant ripe blackberry and oak bouquet with hints of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well-balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced blackberry with notes of oak and clove. I also detected a hint of black cherry towards the end. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins are well-managed and show very nice length. This Tempranillo would pair very nicely with Roy’s rib roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Selected lots from the more steeply inclined and chalky parcels. Malolactic fermentation and 12 to 18 months aging in barriques of primarily French oak. Deep robe and structure are highlighted by pronounced minerality on the nose and a focused, saturated and persistent finish.
