Wine Review: The Dominio Basconcillos is undoubtedly barrel aged. And if you didn't get it from the name you got it on the nose. Reminiscent of a Dry Creek Zinfandel, the Basconcillos 12 Meses has the spicy, fruity, and earthy components of a Zin that is well put together. A helping of licorice, Bing cherries, cola, and mountain bay leaves dance about without being convoluted. The finish is long with ripe tannins and the softest touch of acidity to keep the tannins from being sweet. This needs a nice cut of red meat in order to truly shine. – Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: Certified organic. 100% Tempranillo, Selected grapes from clay and gravel soils. Aging takes place in American and French oak between two and five years old. Rounded, powerful and persistent, with layers of spice and fruit.
