Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay and Auxerrois blend from Alsace is very good. It opens with a lemon butter bouquet with hints of ripe banana and peach. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and slightly acidic with rounded edges. It is also mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mineral infused light lemon with notes of almond and banana. We also detected some hints of quince mixed in towards the end. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors showed nice length for a white. The acidity and flavors in this wine also allowed it to pair well with my paired well with my sautéed chicken with butternut squash ravioli simmered in a Parmesan cheese fresh sage cream sauce or your favorite Thai dish. Enjoy – Ken and Joe
Winemaker Notes: Clear pale-yellow color. The nose is rocky, lean and still partially closed with some smoky influence. With aeration in a carafe, which is strongly recommended, the nose opens up beautifully and shows more white fruits and citrus aromas, again a signature often found in this vineyard. The palate shows superb aromatics, is vivacious, dry, with a sapid/juicy texture. The finish shows a salivating touch from a ripe acidity. This wine is alive and shows lots of energy and a perfect harmony.
